Description

1960 was a pivotal time for the legendary sax man who lived for a time in Strawberry Mansion. This collection, recorded at Atlantic Studios with other members of his quartet--fellow Philadelphian McCoy Tyner, plus Elvin Jones and Steve Davis--shows the progression 'Trane was making from classic jazz to free form. To our ears he sounded great. Tracks include:
My Favorite Things, Summertime, Every Time We Say Goodbye, But Not For Me, One & Four, Exotica, Like Sonny
