Few schools in Philadelphia have a storied history to rival the fabled St. Leonard's Academy. Founded in the 1860s by Mother Cornelia Connelly and the Sisters of the Holy Child Jesus, the complex of four centennial era brownstones were built at 39th & Chestnut in 1870 and formed a private school for young Catholic women. And the rest was history!
