Long before mega shopping centers and mile wide markets there were good old supermarkets lining the main streets in and around the city. They didn't have espresso stands, olive bars, cheese islands, pasta makers, muffin bakers and climate controlled irrigation systems to wet the produce every four seconds! Supermarkets like Acme, Food Fair, Penn Fruit and A&P were super friendly, super convenient and super easy to shop. In today's markets you need to take a taxi from the milk section to the cereal aisle.
