Remember records? Those black vinyl discs that played music? You needed a phonograph or record player, and maybe a spindle adaptor to play your 45s. Records were all the rage in the rockin' 50s and 60s and there were stores that actually sold records and albums from floor to ceiling. One of the top chains in Philly was Sam Goody, where the saying was "whatever the genre, Goody got it!" We spent hundreds of hours at Goody's 11th & Chestnut store, and later 69th Street and Roosevelt Mall locations listening to all the best sounds of the day. You can't download those memories into an IPod!
