Center City Philadelphia was a cool place to be back in the 50s and early 60s. After a night out at one of the downtown movie palaces, or a live show at one of the legit theaters, or even an evening of club hopping at popular joints like Pep's, The Showboat, Latin Casino or The Click Club, the late night crowd usually wound up at The Harvey House on South Broad Street for a nosh and nitecap. They served the strongest coffee in town and by that time of night you probably needed it!
