Remember when the hottest place to stay for the coolest kids was Chelsea? Pacific Avenue was lined with dozens of glitzy motels lit in lots of neon so you couldn't see how crappy the places really were. The Trop was one of those places. For a reasonable fee you could cram 30 of your closest friends into a room the size of a bathtub and then sneak into the pool for a latenight dip. It didn't matter because the motel night manager was about 14 years old. Those were the days!
