The rock scene in Philly really began to take off in the late 60s when The Trauma was the premier rock room, located in a commercial section of town at 2121 Arch Street. Impresario Manny Rubin broke many of the hot new acts--none hotter at the time than The Mothers of Invention with Frank Zappa who played to capacity the last week in December 1967.
