Remember when the Eagles sucked so bad in the mid-70s and the WFL's Philadelphia Bell was the best football team in town. The team was owned by John B. Kelly Jr., and played its home games at massive old JFK Stadium--attracting 66,000 fans for their first game and 55,000 for the second--but the league only lasted a season and a half. The Bell was noted for introducing a scrappy player to Philly--Vince Papale--and the rest was history.
