Remember when the hottest place to stay for the coolest kids at the shore was Chelsea? There were dozens of glitzy motels lining Pacific Avenue and the Boardwalk, all lit with lots of neon so you couldn't see how crappy they really were. We loved LaConcha because it was so easy to sneak 30 of our closest friends off the Boardwalk and up the steps into a room that was slightly larger than a bathtub. Then we all took a late night dip in the motel pool. Not that it was open, it was because the night manager was 12 years old and couldn't stop us. What a time it was!
