It had many names back in the day--Municipal Auditorium, Pennsylvania Hall. Civic Center--but the one we recall with special reverence is the old Convention Hall. It's where the Ramblers roamed for a time...the roller derby rolled...wrestling and boxing squared off in the ring...political parties picked their presidential candidates...but for us, Convention Hall was the home court for the Philadelphia Warriors and then the 76ers. This was when arenas hosted your favorite sports and family attractions, and you weren't overwhelmed with exorbitant ticket prices (even for the times), $5 beers and advertising everywhere you looked. Simpler times. Great times. When we look at this tee we can almost hear Zink roar, "Gola goal!!!!"
