Before there was the old Electric Factory, legendary promoter Manny Rubin introduced live rock to Philadelphia with his infamous Trauma Rock Room at 21st & Arch. Franz Zappa, Canned Heat, Vanilla Fudge, Small Faces, Electric Flag, The Chambers Brothers and The Velvet Underground were a few of the national acts that were introduced at The Trauma, but it was the local bands like Mandrake Memorial, Woody's Truck stop and Lothar & The Hand puppets that made the joint special!
