The year was 1986, the place was the Bourse Building at 5th & Market, the scene was a true blast from the past--The Heartthrob Cafe & Philadelphia Bandstand! With it's retro diner vibe along with gum cracking waitresses, poodle skirted hostesses, nebbishy soda jerks, a fab jukebox and ultra cool decor, there was no cooler place to see and be seen. Then you could wander into the Bandstand with its glittery bar, vintage booths, giant screen Muntz tv broadcasting flashback videos, and a dj spinning the hottest dance platters in town and you knew you were really part of something special.
