Ed Snider did a lot more for Philly than bringing pro hockey to town. In addition to founding the Flyers, Ed was a onetime limited partner in the Eagles, built the Spectrum and later the stadium that keeps changing its name, gave birth to sports talk radio with WIP, became a founding partner of Comcast-Spectacor and managing partner of the 76ers during its last best time, along with a host of business and civic achievements that good fill a book. But here's a blast from the past that was the beginning of cable tv in Philly--Ed & Co were the brains behind PRISM in the early 80s, a pay tv network that gave us great flicks around the clock along with home and away games from our hometown teams--namely the Phil's, Flyer's, 76ers and Big 5 basketball. Great times...brought to us by a great guy!
