Before Modell's and Sports Authority and all the big chains there was a time when Philly covered all the bases with the best sporting goods stores in town--M&H, Polly Brothers, Brooks, Bartram, Gold Medal, Mitchell & Ness, Pearson's, and our old favorite, Passon's on Arch Street. The Passon Brothers were so old they probably outfitted the very first Olympics, but when you went into the store you knew you were in a special place. They don't have places like Passon's any more!
