Description

Philly has long been known as a great boxing town, but few measured up for sheer excitement as Mike Rossman, aka "The Jewish Butcher," who fought his way up to the top of the WBA Light Heavyweight Division. One December 5, 1978, in front of a loud crowd of cheering hometown fans at the old Spectrum, Rossman successfully defended his title with a TKO of Italian challenger Aldo Traversero in the fifth round. The rest was history, but with a 44-7 record in a tough division, our boy Mike made us proud!
