Description

It was always a treat when the first lady of song, Ella Fitzgerald, appeared in Philly. First time was in the late 30s when as a teen singer with the Chick Webb Orchestra she performed 8 shows daily at the old Earle Theater at 11th & Market. By the late 50s Ella and her fellas starred at the old Latin Casino at 13th & Walnut in downtown Philly, then over the bridge into Cherry Hill. This memorable night was January 9, 1962. Poster is 14x17.
