It was the downtown joint that was the place to see and be seen back in the 50s and 60s. All the swells and sharpies would head there with their dolls to dine and enjoy floorshows that featured the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Buddy Greco, Jimmy Durante, Bobby Rydell and a legion of legends. The CR was part of the Palumbo's complex, but cozier and livelier.
