For generations of Philly kids one of the greatest phenomena of our time was the drive in. We saw the first McDonald's and Gino's and, of course, the originator--The Hot Shoppe--but let's not forget one of the joys of summer...going to the Dairy Queen for a cone topped with a tower of creamy frozen custard. Sure, Philly was the ice cream capital of the country, and water ice was also our claim to fame, but being able to get frozen custard so close to home was a lot more convenient than getting it on the boards at the shore: Color: Cream
